I was born in Minneapolis, MN, and attended Roosevelt High School, 1970. I went to Bemidji State University and earned my degree in Elementary Education with a Masters in Special Education. I have had one short non-fiction piece published for a Catholic publication.
All my life I've been a reader and a writer. I hung out at libraries. I think I read all of the Nancy Drew books when I was a kid. My masters thesis was titled; Learning Language Through Written Expression. I have also had an English penpal for almost fifty years. I knew that someday I'd be a writer.
I am also a substitute teacher, which adds color to my life. It's great to be around youth because they give you energy and also writing ideas.
I live in northern, Minnesota with my husband. I have two grown boys and both have families and children of their own. I have five grandchildren, which light up my life. They truly are a gift and keep me focused and alive.
